Pioneer Scholarships

Scholarships not only provide financial support for our students' education, they are an investment in our students' aspirations and the region’s workforce of the future. Although a 麻豆传媒社区入口 education leads the nation in affordability, one of the key determinants to keeping students at the university is cost, often preventing our students from realizing their dreams and reaching their fullest potential.

Nearly 70 percent of 麻豆传媒社区入口 Students receive some form of financial aid. A typical financial aid package consists of a student grant, a student loan, work-study and/or income from a part-time job or internship as well as an expected family contribution. Scholarships factor in this assistance as more than just a gift that defrays tuition costs: they are our donors’ personal votes of confidence.

We continue to be committed to excellence through opportunity, ensuring that a 麻豆传媒社区入口 education is open to all who seek it, regardless of economic or social circumstance.

How to Establish or Give to a Scholarship at 麻豆传媒社区入口

The type of support you choose can be designed to fit your intentions, financial resources and funding timetable. Scholarships can be established in several ways:

Annual Scholarships (non-endowed)

An annual scholarship gift provides support to students for one academic year, and makes an immediate impact on students. Donors can renew scholarship support every year, or make a gift to cover several years.

  • Annual student support is just that—yearly—and many times donors ultimately create an endowment to ensure that their scholarship is perpetuated.
  • Gifts of any amount can be made in support of an established annual college, department or program scholarship.
  • Unless otherwise stated, donors can establish a named current use scholarship with pledge payments over a period of 5 years.

Minimum gift requirements to establish named current use, non-endowed scholarships: $25,000

Permanent Scholarships (endowed)

Endowed scholarships provide a consistent flow of support to students and allow the university to plan for the future. In a permanent scholarship, the original asset is held in perpetuity and only a portion of the earnings from the fund is distributed annually.

  • Donors may invest in an established endowed scholarship or create your own.
  • Donors can establish an endowed scholarship through a gift made during their lifetime, a planned gift or both.
  • Currently, the spending allocation is 4 percent annually.

Minimum gift amount to establish university, college, department and program scholarship endowments: $25,000

Examples of scholarship awards (based on the current rate of return):

Endowment Amount Spending Allocation Equals percentage of undergraduate tuition for one student*
$25,000 $1,000 14%
$50,000 $2,000 29%
$75,000 $3,000 43%
$100,000 $4,000 57%

Scholarships may also be divided among more than one student, and may be outlined in a donor’s gift agreement.
