Welcome
Welcome to Kinesiology!
Thanks for stopping by. We are a dynamic and interdisciplinary department that explores the science and art of sport, exercise, physical activity, and all forms of human movement and its relation to life-long health, wellness and performance. We bring together knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, sociology, history, biochemistry, and philosophy, bridging the gap between the life and behavioral sciences, the humanities, and pedagogy and coaching. Through these disciplines, we gain a deeper understanding of how the body moves, functions, and achieves optimal performance and health and wellness through and in sport, exercise, physical activity, and all forms of human movement.
I encourage you to explore our web site and find out more about the profession of Kinesiology and Kinesiology here at East Bay. We are a very engaged department with faculty working closely with students to develop their professional and personal skills and knowledge and a program that will prepare you for a career in fitness and well-being or the allied health professions. We are passionate about the value of physical activity to not only health and wellness, but also as a vehicle for social change and social justice. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or wish to stop by for a visit.
